We are hiring!

Are you passionate about native bee conservation? Would you like to learn more while working with cool people to conserve cool insects? Are you interested in leadership, creative expression, and freedom to take initiative? Join UCSB’s Bee Campus USA Committee! We have 3 paid internships available for 1-3 quarters. Each intern will work ~3 hours per week and receive a stipend of $450 per quarter. Interns will attend biweekly team meetings as well as all Bee Campus USA Committee meetings (a few times a year), in addition to the following responsibilities:

 

Garden Coordinator
Monitor garden watering sign-up sheets to make sure slots are filled and checked off once watered
Check on each garden every other week
Coordinate with garden coordinators at each garden to manage volunteers and workdays
Collaborate with other campus organizations to plan new gardens
Work with Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration to update plant guide

 

Outreach Intern 
Plan two educational events every quarter
Collaborate with other campus organizations on joint events
Manage instagram, respond to DMs, upload photos of events and of bees
Collaborate with Bee Campus USA

 

Content Creating Intern 
Create educational content (brochures, bee and plant fact sheets, pamphlets about conservation strategies, etc.)
Research pollinator conservation information to inform content
Work with UCSB Bee Campus USA Committee,  faculty, staff, and campus organizations as well as other partners to develop educational resources
Collaborate with Bee Campus USA
